T-shirt
Description
Shirt from the Comme des Garcons “comme des garcons”. Comme des Garcons runs a number of labels, many with different and often highly specific themes. This particular “comme des garcons” line isn't one that I have come across many times before, but it is very much in line with the CDG conceptual/deconstruction theme that they often employ, with the quality arguably higher than some other CDG pieces . So the design is probably pretty self-explanatory. The main body is a solid gray t-shirt in cotton, while sewn on top is a part of a purple cardigan in a summer weight wool. It's very much the sort of avant-garde design CDG is known and so well regarded for, essentially a unique take on the classic layered look, taken to the extreme. Worthy of mention here too is the quality. This is an excellent summer weight piece in spite of the additional layer of fabric, with the cardigan in particular being a very high quality knit. This piece is a bit unusual as well in that it is made in Italy. CDG usually produces their stuff in Japan, with a few exceptions in France (or China for their lower-end pieces), but it's pretty rare to come across Italian knits by CDG to be sure. Tag notes that this was released in summer 2014, making it a fairly recent piece. As with pretty much everything CDG does, you can be sure these shirts were produced in very limited quantities and were in no way cheap at retail. Get it here much more reasonably. Size is labeled a medium and fits slim in my opinion. I measure the chest at 18”, shoulders at 16” and length at 24”. The shirt comes in used but very good shape. There is just a bit of wear on the neck tag materials label, but otherwise no holes, tears, stains or visible signs of wear. Made in Italy.
