Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 puts an avant-garde spin on athletic sneakers once again this season, fusing a sleek performance-inspired upper to adidas’ ground-breaking 4D midsole. The result is typical of Yamamoto – monochromatic, futuristic and unlike any other application of the technology to date. The lightweight textile uppers are supported by strategic embroidery – that also forms shapes reminiscent of those from ‘00s runners – and sit on an all-black version of the 4D midsole.
