Carol Christian Poell is an Austrian designer who was originally trained as a tailor in Italy and later founded the C.C.P. studio in Milan. He is known for the exquisite design, use of peculiar material and excellent craftsmanship that earned him a crowd of cult followers. His Spring/Summer 2004 runway, titled "Mainstream-Downstream", presented an unconventional scene where models were floating down the Naviglio Grande river to showcase the garments. Carol Christian Poell is undoubtedly a representative figure in the avant-garde fashion world.
